Yoga Mudras

Yoga is much more than simply a physical practice of Asanas, Breathing techniques & Relaxation postures to attain flexibility, balance & strength. Yoga Tattava Mudra’s Vigyan or Yoga Mudra’s is a science of hands and finger postures that give a whole new dimension to Yoga practice. This is an independent branch of Yoga of five elements that directly relates to the ‘Nadis’ (Nerves).

These spiritual gestures and the energetic seal of authenticity is the holistic system of healing postures of our hands that lock and guide the internal bodily energy to flow to the brain with its multiple holistic benefits to heal all sorts of ailments by balancing ‘Pancha Tattava’ the five elements of body according to Ayurveda.

Mudras are the subtle, meaningful, non verbal & external mode of communication practiced to attain physical, mental & spiritual balance that enables Yogi’s to connect to a higher understanding. These ritual gestures are capable of bestowing great powers called SIDDHIES ( The perfection in fulfillment ). Besides being practiced for spiritual gains they are immensely beneficial for various therapies.

Each finger used in practicing Mudras represents an element. The thumb is FIRE, the index finger is AIR, the middle finger is ETHER, the ring finger is EARTH & the little finger is WATER. Lack or excess of any of these elements in the body causes imbalance of PRANA (energy).

The basic healing and energizing Mudras can be practiced anywhere, anytime simply by sitting cross legged, Vajrasana or Lotus Posture. One can even practice Mudras sitting on a chair and even while watching Television to intensify the flow of energy in the body. Regular practice of Mudras will contribute to your holistic Heath & Well-being.
